Norwegian, Latvian & Lithuanian Open 2024Final results

Good morning!

After yesterday's storms the sky is very dramatic in the morning. Anyways, the clouds should go away due to Mistral (strong Northerly wind) coming in during the day. And that means one thing - there's no task today. The good news is that it should die down after one day and leave us with clear air for the remaining days of the competition.

We have planned some activities for you:
- swimming and hinking in the Meouge 13h30-18h
- swimming and hiking at the riou lake 13h30-18h
- via ferrata in Orpierre hours not yet defined
- tree climbing in Sisteron 13h30 - 18h

Register for the activities tomorrow at the HQ from 11:00 am to 12:00 am.

We have 6 vans, 8 seats each. Places will be allocated on first come first serve basis.

as there will still be some Mistral wind left in the Chabre area tomorrow, we've decided to go to the Montclar take-off.

The buses will LEAVE at 9:30 from the campsite (which means you should be here before that).

Good morning, we have arrived in Montclar.

It looks, like there is still some significant wind from the back, at the moment, so we will wait at the bottom for a while, not to bask in the sun at the take-off.

Unofrtunately, the task today had to be stopped and canceled even before it started. In the morning there was quite a lot of wind from the back on Montclar, so we knew we would have to start a task late. A route of 49 km was set and the pilots were ready to launch at 14:45. Unfortunately, there was too much shade in the valley and side wind on the take off.

At 28 minutes to window open there were still 112 pilots on the ground, so it would be impossible to get them all in the air for a fair contest. And the wind was still mainly from the side. At that time the Meet Direcotr decided to stop and cancel the task. Many pilots decided to go freeflying, but had to use the lower take off.

Tomorrow we are going to the Bergies take off. It's around 50 km by road West from Laragne:

The bus and the vans will be ready at 9, the vans leave at 9:15 and the big bus at 9:30. Please, come on time

Finally the conditions are looking good to fly from the Chabre take off. The task was already set at 9:30 am and pilots are almost at the take-off.

94 pilots made it into the ESS, but 5 were a bit unlucky and landed short. Which still means that a huge number of 89 pilots made goal today!.

The winners once againa were Jouni Makkonen (FIN) and Rasa Grigoraitiene (LTU). Congratulations!
